So invoice processing is much faster and more accurate thanks to e-billing. That's nice for all parties. The faster we can process invoices, the better we are able to pay invoices on time. That is of course good for the suppliers because they get paid faster. But it's also nice for us because it gives us quicker insight into expenses.

Renewi had taken the first step toward digital invoice processing. "Colleagues who entered paper invoices also scanned them.

Renewi wanted to go further: Together with 4Exchange , we wrote to all our suppliers asking them to submit future invoices in PDF or XML using administration-specific e-mail addresses. Using this approach, invoices would in future reach us sorted and thus require less searching.

This portal makes it possible for us to submit all incoming invoices as XML receiving, while suppliers can deliver the invoices in any format (paper, pdf, xml) or manually enter invoice data in the so-called key-in portal. The portal then converts the supplied invoices to TU Delft's standard format and then delivers them including pdf invoice image and any attachments.
